Hello and welcome to my social media blog :) My name is Mia and I'm currently in my final year studying Bachelor of Business and Marketing at Flinders University!
For my topic BUSN2048 Social Media Marketing we are required to create a blog about an aspect of social media and continuously update and write on our blog each week. I have decided to focus on the importance of social media and by choosing this as my topic i have the ability and freedom to write about all aspects of social media as I didn't want to limit myself to one platform or topic!

Recently I was talking to a friend who had been desperately applying for multiple jobs. While having this conversation we were talking about the fact that within one of her interviews the employer asked if its okay to look her up on her social media platforms. Of course, she said yes as she is desperately looking for a job but I found it interesting that the employer asked. In one of my topics I'm studying (Human Resource Planning, Recruitment and Selection) I recently wrote a piece about the legal obligations of using social media through both recruitment and selection processes and found that there are many legal obligations if the company had not warned the potential employee.
